Community-based platform

Plenti Planti - a green space for plant lovers like Airbnb, but for your monstera

Plenti Planti is a platform created for people who love plants and worry about them. Whether you’re going away for a week and need someone to water your leafy friends, you’re looking to earn extra cash by caring for plants in your city or you want to explore the marketplace to find new additions for your plant collection, Plenti Planti is here to help.

🧪 The Problem

I always had this thought in the back of my mind: what if I go away for a while and none of my friends can take care of my plants?
My sister travels once a year for over a month, and there were times when no one could water her plants and she loves them just as much as I do. That’s where the idea for this platform came from. There’s Petsy.pl for animals, so why not something like that for plants?
Before Plenti Planti, there wasn’t really a central, dedicated space for people who needed short-term plant care or wanted to turn their love for plants into a micro side hustle.
Existing solutions were scattered:
  • Facebook groups were unstructured and chaotic.
  • OLX / classifieds weren’t designed for care-based services.
  • There was no dedicated plantsitter economy like there is for pets.
For plant parents and collectors, this meant:
  • Stress during holidays or work trips.
  • Losing plants due to lack of care.
  • No structured way to connect with trusted, local sitters or sellers.

💡 The Idea

It was my idea. I pitched it to two developers and we formed a team of three and ask us the question "What if plants had their own ecosystem? A platform that connects plant owners, caretakers, and plant lovers - all in one place.".
Inspired by a real personal need (and my sister’s yearly month-long trip and her dead plants afterwards), Plenti Planti was born as a three-part platform:
  1. Find a plantsitter - someone nearby to care for your plants while you’re away.
  1. Offer care - become a plantsitter and earn from your experience.
  1. Browse & sell - access a Vinted-style marketplace for plant trading and collecting.

🛠️ The Solution

Plenti Planti allows users to:
  • Create one flexible account (no “buyer/seller” split — you can do both).
  • Post care offers or sitter requests with location, type of plant, dates, etc.
  • List or browse plants for sale or swap.
  • Manage everything via a dashboard.
  • Chat directly with other users.
One platform, one flow, zero confusion.
No payment system yet — users make arrangements directly.

🎨 Brand and Visual Direction

The brand vibe is playful, warm, and rooted in real love for plants. The entire color palette was inspired by my dachshund Henio — his brown fur, green collar, and purple blanket became the core of our brand identity. 🐶
  • The illustrations, colors, and layout were all designed to feel welcoming, cozy, and intuitive.
  • No sterile UI. Just friendly, clear navigation and space to grow.

✏️ Design Process

  • Conducted competitive analysis (Facebook groups, OLX, Petsy)
  • Mapped out user journeys for multi-role users (sitters and plant owners)
  • Designed wireframes, UI system, and dashboard in Figma
  • Used Linear for team collaboration and task management
  • Built everything with constant feedback & testing (both in Figma and on the live site)
A key challenge: designing a single flow that works for all users without forcing them into categories too early. Unlike Petsy, Plenti Planti lets you sell, sit, and buy plants under one account.

🌟 What I’m Proud Of

  • The dashboard: clean, intuitive, flexible for multi-role users
  • The tone of voice: friendly, human, and plant-lover-approved
  • Designing not just a product, but a space for real connection

🎁 Outcome

Plenti Planti is live, growing, and in its early stages of community-building. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. People love the idea, the tone, and the visuals.
This project gave me the confidence to build something from scratch, collaborate with devs in a real-world setting, and trust my own instincts as a designer and creative lead.
